Job Purpose:

This role reports to the Microbiology and Stability Manager, and will provide support for the following key areas; Environmental monitoring within the production cleanrooms, media management, growth promotion of media and sample management within the laboratory areas including receipt and disposal. The ideal candidate will therefore have a scientific background, excellent organisation and attention to detail. 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

 

  1. Execution of GMP documentation (training will be provided)
  2. Compliance with GMP (training will be provided)
  3. Environmental monitoring of the production cleanrooms including air, settle plate, contact plate, water, coliform sampling
  4. Media management including media receipt, inspection, growth promotion testing, media approval and stock control
  5. Routine maintenance of the microbiological equipment (biosafety cabinets, incubators, water baths and fridges etc)
  6. Receive, label and process materials for microbiology and stability use
  7. Disposal of expired materials and ordering, reagents, laboratory consumables etc
  8. Manage the cleanliness of the laboratory areas

Flexible and able to work extended hours when required. Specific Job Skills:

 

Required:

  • Willing to study for relevant qualification
  • Able to communicate well via written media with specific emphasis on report writing
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have a keen interest in Life Sciences/Pharma industries

 

Computer skills: Must be competent in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word,
e-mail and internet;

Literacy and Numeracy: Must have excellent communication skills particularly, written English and interpretation and Maths.
